Girls at Eastlake University are being targeted by a serial kidnapper and so Frank and Joe Hardy are on the case, when an old school friend also turns out to be one of the kidnapper's intended victims. In the opening bit, Jill Sommers (played by a young Stepfanie Kramer) returns to the science lab to retrieve her book, but someone is trashing the lab. A shadowy figure closes in and she screams in terror. Later we see Jill alongside two previous victims (played by Robin Blair and Diane Markoff) tied up in a storage room of a joke shop or the back room of a dark ride. Jill tries to plead with their captor, but only gets gagged with tape like the other two captives. Afterward, Alice (played by Kim Lankford) knocks on her dorm mate's door and on opening it, is likewise confronted by the shadowy kidnapper. Finally, as Joe confronts the kidnapper who turns out to be the old school friend- or rather her alternate personality- Frank discovers the girls and rescues them.
