On a distant planet, the Loc-Nar (the total sum of all evil taking the form of a green jewel every creature covets) falls from the sky like a meteor and transforms a tribe of wanderers into genocidal madmen, bent on domination. After a mass slaughter, a silent swords-woman Taarna, the last of a race of defenders arises to challenge the menace. After securing information where the barbarians can be found, she and her winged mount are netted and captured. Taarna is presented before the leader naked and bound to a complicated rack as her bird is tied down and shot at for the villains' amusement. Later, disposed of in a deep pit, Taarna awakens and dons her armor when it is cast down to her. The bird escapes and carries her away.
