Tracy Pollan plays Olympic biathlete Kari Swenson who is abducted by father-and-son mountain men, planning to start their own colony. Kari is spotted by the pair while on a run in the hills and they quickly intercept her. She tries to get away but is overpowered, tackled and has her hands tied to the ends of a rope, leash-style. They pull her further into the wilderness. Kari tries to mark a trail but the father stops her. At a camp for the night, they chain Kari to a tree tightly to the point where she has to struggle to sit on the ground. Kari tries to hide a rock to use as a bludgeon later, but it's soon found and taken from her.
