Directors of the Capitol Land and Development Company are being killed. They have the tender for the Cupid project, an underground government headquarters in the event of a nuclear war. Clues such as a red nose and a giant footprint lead the Avengers to a home for retired Vaudeville performers, irate that the project will flatten a sainted variety theater. Agent Tara King , portrayed by Linda Thorson is captured by the gang of murderous Vaudevillians. They decide to get rid of her by handing her over to Fiery Frederick, a performer obsessed with perfecting his stage act where an assistant is burnt in half through a metal box with a blowtorch !
