Cara Williams and Dorothy Stickney play daughter and mother damsels Maggie and Emily Drumman in this somewhat lackluster classic comedy in which a nebbish jewel cutter is tricked by some crooks into re-cutting a huge stolen diamond. in this bit, the ladies march in and demand that the baddies leave the man alone and they want no part of the scheme, or else they'll go to the cops. Of course such forthrightness needs to be properly rewarded and so the thugs send in one of their own after the girls, who are subdued, gagged and tied to chairs (alas all off-screen) after an incredible row. Later, as the poor dupe is preparing to cut the stone, the girls work themselves free from the sundry pillowcases, window valances, scarves, and bed linens they are secured with.
*Is it me or does on screen bondage seem a bit more authentic when the baddies have to improvise whatever bindings and gaggings they use on a damsel ? Thoughts?*
